To access data with your Australia Post Prepaid TravelSIM

Turn data roaming on (leave data roaming off when not in use or in Wifi zones)

Enter the internet settings into your handset:

APN:  travel.apn | Username:  leave blank | Password:  leave blank

Where do I find the APN settings on my phone?

iPhone:  Settings > Cellular or Mobile > Cellular or Mobile Data Network > Mobile Data APN

Android/Others:  Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

iPad:  Settings > Mobile Data Network

If you are not getting any signal on your Prepaid TravelSIM®+, your device may be showing SOS or no network, please try the below steps:

1. Turn your phone completely off, wait 15 seconds and then switch it back on (this solves many connection errors).
2. Try to manually connect to a network. To do this, go to your Settings and Network Settings in your handset and change network selection to Manual. Select a carrier and wait a few moments.
3. Try the SIM card in another handet (this will isolate if there is a handset or SIM card issue).

To check your balance: 

  • Use our FREE Prepaid TravelSIM®+ App - the easiest option
  • Dial *101# into the handset (like a phone call) and the balance will appear on the screeen
  • Log into your account
  • Send a SMS with the word BALANCE to +61 485 820 123
  • Call or web chat to our 24/7 Australian-based Customer Support Team on +61 2 9233 5165

Your credit is valid for six months from your last recharge.  If you wish to save any unused credit, you can simply recharge within six months and your credit will roll over for an additional six months.

Data packs are valid for 30 days from the first connection to an eligiible network overseas.

If your phone displays messages such as SOS only, SIM restricted or SIM lock try switching your phone off and on again.

As your phone is in a roaming environment, it is recommended to turn your phone off more regularly to allow the phone to refresh itself.  

If the problem remains, your phone is locked to your service provider.  

Your phone must be unlocked for the Prepaid TravelSIM®+ to work.

If you experience an issue with your Prepaid TravelSIM®+, please try the following:

  • turn your phone off and on.  As your phone is in a roaming environment, it is recommended to turn your phone off more regularly to allow the phone to refresh itself.  
  • call through the Prepaid TravelSIM®+ app.
  • check the number is dialled in full international format.
  • ensure your phone is connected to a network.
